Accelerate Expert Program

In 2019, Pracademy was contacted by the Telenor Academy to help them facilitate the Accelerate Expert Program. The goal of this yearly program is to enable 32 highly accomplished and technical managers to develop their skills as influential thought leaders. The participants represented multiple business units (finance, IT, business intelligence, digital and corporate strategy) and held positions across many of Telenor’s geographies (Myanmar, Pakistan, Denmark, Sweden, Finland) and subsidiaries (Dtac, Grameen Phone, Digi).

Program Structure

We structured our participation in the program into three separate workshops to expose the Experts to Design Thinking, Designing Your Life, and Creative Leadership skills. We first met with the experts in the winter of 2019 for a physical launch. It resulted in one of the most energizing and inspiring workshops Pracademy has ever had the privilege of leading. The Experts threw themselves into multiple creative exercises with ease and were quick to open up and bond with their colleagues. The psychological safety that ensued was a real treat to experience.

Adjusting to Covid-19

The initial plan after this first workshop was to meet in Kuala Lumpur for our second session. Yet due to Covid-19, we decided to transfer our efforts from the physical classroom to the digital space. Thus, we led two subsequent sessions via Zoom in the fall of 2020 where the energy remained high and the student connection was solidified even more. We asked the Experts to dig deep, consider their most strongly held values, and then share them in small breakout rooms. We also covered important themes such as deep listening, awareness, authenticity, vulnerability, and contemplative practices. Journaling and dyadic exchanges were critical teaching components of these sessions.

Blended Success

These final two workshops were proof that meaningful lessons can indeed take place remotely. We’re excited to continue our relationship with the Telenor Group going forward, as we learn together about the benefits and challenges of blended learning.
